Mike Power’s Career Path

  • Mike Power shared his unique career trajectory, which began 27 years ago during a university work placement at Hilton Hotels. He identified a problem with the hotel’s photography library, which relied on physical 35mm slides, and proposed creating a digital photo library on CD-ROMs. This project not only impressed Hilton but also ignited Mike’s passion for technology and presentations. After graduating with a degree in business and IT, Mike continued to work with Hilton, gradually expanding his freelance projects into a full-fledged business.

The Birth of  Neuxpower and NXPowerLite

  • The name “Neuxpower” originated from a combination of Mike and his partner Andrew Maloney’s surnames. The development of NXPowerLite emerged from a client meeting where a Hilton executive expressed frustration over the time-consuming process of resizing images for a presentation. Inspired by this challenge, Mike and his team created a tool to automate image compression within PowerPoint files.

The Evolution of PowerPoint Add-ins
